Rosselkhoznadzor Discussed Issues of Livestock Product Supplies with Representatives of Competent Authorities of Switzerland

On November 25, the meeting between the Rosselkhoznadzor and the delegation from Switzerland was held within the framework of the working visit of the foreign colleagues to Moscow.

The Russian party was led by Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Konstantin Savenkov and the Swiss party -  by Deputy Director of the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office Thomas Jemmy and Vice-director of the Swiss Federal Office of Agriculture Adrian Thomas Aebi.

The key topic of the negotiations was the discussion of draft instructions on the implementation by the Swiss party of the control of establishments interested in the supply of meat and dairy products to Russia. Konstantin Savenkov noted that the harmonization of these documents is at the final stage now. The Rosselkhoznadzor sent proposals to improve the instructions to the Swiss colleagues last week. It is planned that the harmonization will be completed before the meeting of еhe Russian-Swiss Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which is scheduled for December this year. The Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor noted that after these documents come into force, the competent authority of Switzerland should send them to the establishments manufacturing animal products. Then the Rosselkhoznadzor can consider the possibility of inspecting establishments interested in export of their commodities.

The Swiss party also noted about its plans to review the list of establishments that are authorized for supplies of animal feed and feed additives to Russia. The list will be officially sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor.

Konstantin Savenkov raised the issue of supplies of the Russian livestock products to Switzerland. The Rosselkhoznadzor had previously sent a letter to the Swiss colleagues with a request to consider the possibility of expanding the export of such goods. The Swiss party promised to notify officially about consideration of this issue in the near future.

The parties agreed to address all the issues identified at the negotiations and thanked each other for the cooperation.
