Listeria outbreak in Denmark
According to mass media more than 10 people died of listeriosis
implicating meat products in Denmark within the last 2 days.
Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary
Surveillance analyzed violations of Danish product export to Russia detected
within last two years. Thus, according to available information in 2014
Rosselkhoznadzor imposed temporary restrictions on product export as two Danish
establishments (GL 401, DK 4518) violated veterinary and phytosanitary safety
requirements of the Russian Federation. The cause for introduction of
restrictions was detection of Listeria and E.Coli in exported products.
Moreover, other 12 establishments exporting fish products and sea food, offals,
proteins, animal feeds and poultry meat were notified about the detected
violations. Rosselkhoznadzor took similar measures last year. Thus, in 2013 the
Service imposed temporary restrictions on product export from 7 Danish
establishments due to detection of cadmium, arsenic, E. Coli and excessive
amount of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms. 22 more
establishments were notified on detected violations.
