Rosselkhoznadzor Detects More Falsified Phytosanitary Certificates for Plant Products Checked at Belarusian Part of Customs Union External Border
The Rosselkhoznadzor has already informed about 110 detected
cases when plant food products checked at the Belarusian part of the Customs
Union external border were accompanied by falsified phytosanitary certificates.
Up to the moment the Rosselkhoznadzor has detected another 70 falsified
phytosanitary certificates including 53 Turkish and 17 Serbian certificates.
The total weight of smuggled products detected by the
Rosselkhoznadzor within monitoring tests and subjected to primary quarantine
phytosanitary check in Belarus is more than three thousand tons.
This is indicative of the fact that the Belarusian competent
authorities for some reason do not prevent import or movement of illegal
products in the CU territory. To prevent potential smuggling and elaborate a
single approach for authenticity determination of certificates accompanying
commercial consignments of products the Rosselkhoznadzor addressed again to the
Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus on February 6, 2015 with the
proposal to arrange joint monitoring of imported products at the Belarusian
part of the Customs Union external border. Unfortunately the response of the
Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food to the proposal has not been
received by the Rosselkhoznadzor yet.
The Rosselkhoznadzor also proposed to hold phone
consultations on non-equivalent measures taken by the Belarusian side in relation
to oilcake moved in the CU territory. This proposal was also ignored and the
fact raises deep concerns of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
