The “SI RO Rostov Regional Veterinary Laboratory” tested the pathological material from died backyard pigs (Lesnoy settlement, the Kamenskiy Rayon) and Pravda household (the Konstantinovskiy Rayon) of the Rostovskaya Oblast. Positive results for African swine fever (further-ASFV) were obtained on 16.06.2010. As of 17.06.2010 all swine population (27 animals) of Lesnoy settlement (the Kamenskiy Rayon) were disposed and incinerated. There are 250 pigs in the first zone under threat. As of 17.06.2010 there are 118 pigs in Pravda household, which are planned to be slaughtered on 28.06.2010. There are 1000 pigs in the first zone under threat. The quarantine is imposed on the territory of Lesnoy settlement (the Kamenskiy Rayon) and Pravda household (the Konstantinovskiy Rayon). The emergency situation is in place in the territories of the Kamenskiy and the Konstantinovskiy Rayon. The Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for Krasnodarskiy Krai and the Republic of Adygeya informs that pathological material from died backyard pigs (Nikel stow, the Maikopskiy Rayon of the Republic of Adygeya) was found positive for ASFV on 16.06.2010. The point is 600 meters from the ASFV affected area - Khamishki village (the Maikop Region of the Republic of Adygeya). As of 18.06.2010 106 of 170 pigs were segregated and disposed in the first zone under threat. Also, on 16.06.2010 the pathological material taken from killed wild boar found in the woodland to the south west of Khamishki village on the bank of the river Lipovaya (the Maikop Region, the Republic of Adygeya) was found positive for ASFV by the FGI “Krasnodarskaya IVL”. Measures aimed at eradication of ASFV foci are taken in accordance with the current “Instruction on measures for ASFV prevention and eradication”. The specialists of the corresponding Rosselkhoznadzor territorial administrations and veterinary departments of the RF Subjects were sent to the affected areas in order to assist in arranging measures aimed at ASFV foci containment and eradication.
