Representatives of Saudi Arabia Visited Russian Federation to Get Acquainted with System of Grain Quality and Safety Control

The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited the Russian Federation in the period from 22 to 27 April 2018. Within the visit from April 23 to 25 a trip to the Krasnodar Territory was made. In the Novorossiysk Branch of the FGBI "Grain Quality Assessment Center" the visitors examined the laboratory’s activities and equipment. In the port of Novorossiysk they familiarized themselves with the sampling procedure during the loading of grain for export.

In Sochi the delegation visited the bakery, where it thoroughly got familiar with the process of bread production. The representatives of Saudi Arabia noted that the visit to the bakery was important for the exchange of experience and knowledge.

On April 26 the experts from Saudi Arabia visited the Testing Laboratory of the FGBI "Grain Quality Assessment Center" in Ramenskoye, where they studied the system of quality control and grain safety. The representatives of Saudi Arabia noted the high level of control and modern equipment of the laboratory, and also proposed to cooperate and exchange scientific experience. In the International Industrial Academy the visitors got acquainted with the history of the academy and visually demonstrated the results of a practical experiment that showed the insignificant effect of the degree of damage to wheat grains by an insect pest Eurygaster integriceps on the quality of baked bread. Following the discussion of the experiment, the representatives of Saudi Arabia suggested that the Russian side shall prepare and send them two trial lots of Russian wheat to check its integrity in the climate of Saudi Arabia and conduct a repeat experiment on baking bread together with the Russian side.

The head of the delegation invited the Russian side to pay a visit to Saudi Arabia in October this year to get familiarized with the system of grain quality and safety, as well as bread baking technology.
