The talks between Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Chairman of the Russian part of the Intergovernmental Russian-Ecuadorian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation Sergey Dankvert and Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador in the Russian Federation Mr. Julio Prado Espinosa were held today in Moscow. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The key topic of the dialogue was discussion of issues related to the implementation of the agreements reached during the 5th meeting of the said intergovernmental commission held on May 15, 2018 in Moscow.
In particular, the parties discussed the readiness to sign a plethora of bilateral agreements in the field of veterinary medicine, plant quarantine, aquaculture, education, scientific and technical cooperation and grain safety and quality. The parties agreed on the need to speed up the work in this regard as soon as possible. The signing of the above agreements can take place this year, during the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Ecuadorian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation to be held in the fourth quarter of this year in Ecuador.
The Ecuadorian side expressed interest in increasing the supply of Russian grain products. In particular, Mr. Espinosa noted that a number of Ecuadorian companies are also interested in a kind of rice and grain trade exchange.
The parties also discussed problematic issues related to the implementation of bilateral projects. During the dialogue a common strategy was developed to resolve difficult situations.
The Ecuadorian side invited Sergey Dankvert to participate in the forum dedicated to attracting investors to Ecuador. The event will take place this year.
