On November 13-14, Beijing hosted talks between the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC).
In the course of the meeting the Parties discussed current issues relating to cooperation between Russia and China, notably, access of Russian animal products to China.
Following prolonged work the Parties agreed on essential contents of the protocol for exports of beef from Russia to China and the respective veterinary certificate. At the same time the Chinese authority communicated to Russia the procedure for supplying information on Russian establishments interested in exports to China for their further registration when the given protocol is ultimately harmonized.
Moreover, the participants in the negotiations exchanged their views on updating and simplifying the veterinary certificate for exports of poultry meat from Russia to China and considered issues regarding the approach to optimizing electronic notifications for exporting Russian poultry products to China.
Besides, the Rosselkhoznadzor demanded the Chinese Party to accelerate signing of the updated annex to the Russian-Chinese Protocol for mutual exports of frozen poultry meat (addition of a list of turkey offal). The Chinese colleagues promised to bring the procedure to an end in shortest time.
The Rosselkhoznadzor also raised the issue of exports of pig farming products, live animals, fish products and products not intended for human consumption to China. The Chinese party stated that those issues were under consideration.
To conclude the meeting the Parties looked at the possibility to hold a training seminar for application of the Chinese veterinary and sanitary and laboratory requirements and standards for Russian specialists and exchanged contacts for further discussion of the issue.
