Epizootic situation

In view of the work performed by the Veterinary Service of the Republic of Belarus for correction of deficiencies detected on Belarusian plants, the Rosselkhoznadzor lifts previously introduced temporary restrictions on imports of animal products from the following plants:

Due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N8 in the district of Cloppenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany, temporary restrictions will be imposed on export of poultry and hatching eggs from the specified territory to the Russian Federation on December 22, 2014. In case of poultry export from other Lands of Germany to Russia relevant health certificates shall be accompanied with an annex signed and stamped by a veterinarian issuing a health certificate.

Sixteen new outbreaks caused by highly pathogenic avian influenza virus strain H5N1 were registered in eight Chinese provinces during the last three weeks. Except that, previously unregistered highly pathogenic strains H5N3 and H5N8 were detected. The Rosselkhoznadzor conducts monitoring of the situation.

The negotiations were initiated by the Russian side. Yevgeny Nepoklonov informed Yury Pivovarchik that ASF genome was detected in four out of five meat samples taken from the products produced by the Minsk meat-processing plant and imported to the Murmansk Oblast.

Cattle from the anthrax-affected farm was transported for slaughter from Slovakia to Poland and meat was sold through Dutch companies to 19 companies in the Netherlands and 26 companies in Belgium, Germany, Sweden, France, Portugal and Italy. The quarantine was introduced and a package of animal disease control measures was implemented on the farm in Prestov (Slovakia) where the disease outbreak occurred. There is no information on decontamination of the meat-processing plant in Poland. Efforts are made to detect dangerous products in trade turnover of countries which permitted imports of such products into their territories. The Rosselkhoznadzor carries out monitoring of the situation.

The Rosselkhoznadzor specialists inspected plants involved in animal product manufacturing and fish processing in Thailand interested in export of their products to the Customs Union countries from September 29 to October 10, 2014. In the course of the inspection the Rosselkhoznadzor specialists visited facilities supplying inspected plants with raw materials and other organizations involved in production (manufacturing) and/or control of corresponding regulated goods produced by inspected plants. The obtained data are being analyzed.
