Customs Union

The negotiations were held at the initiative of the Belarus party.
Leonid Zayats mentioned the importance of bilateral trade relations between Belarus and Russia. Resumption of imports from a number of Belarus meat processing plants could contribute to these relations.

In the view of the nature of violations detected by the Rosselkhoznadzor experts during the inspection of Belarus OAO “Babyshkina krynka” establishment the Rosselkhoznadzor has considered it possible to lift the temporary restrictions on export of dairy products from the said establishment to Russia from December 18, 2014.

Tadas Briedis, Agricultural Counselor of the EU Representation in Russia, announced that Directorate-General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) receives lots of requests of clarification about exports of offal from Europe to Russia.

The negotiations were held in Moscow, on the 4th of December this year and were devoted to lifting temporary restrictions on imports of some products from the Republic of Belarus to the RF. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Mr. Igor Brylo, Chief Veterinary Officers of Russia and Belarus Yevgeny Nepoklonov and Vasily Pivovar, Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Officer of the Republic of Belarus Igor Gayevsky, Head of the Rosselkhonadzor’s branch administration Vladimir Shevkoplyas, designated officials of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus and the Rosselkhoznadzor’s central headquarters and its institutions took part in the negotiations.

The certificates were initialed on the sidelines of the meeting of the OIE working group for Baltic countries and Eastern Europe devoted to ASF situation. The meeting took place in Minsk. The participants initialed health certificates for export of day-old chicks, poults, goslings, ostrich chicks and hatching eggs from Turkey to the CU as well as for export of heat treated dairy products produced from cattle, goat and sheep milk from Tunis to the CU.

Today Yevgeny Nepoklonov, Rosselkhoznadzor Deputy Head, Chief Veterinary Officer of Russia, approached Vasily Pivovar, Chief Veterinary Officer of Belarus, with a letter that placed emphasis on the fact that laboratory tests detected non-compliance of exported to Russia from Belarus food consignments to standards and requirements provided by legislation of Russia and the Customs Union.
